Google Voice用户发现了可进行纯VoIP通话的方法，只需添加一个sip前缀。Google Voice电话号码加上@sip.voice.google.com，就可以绕过传统的电话网络，进行完全基于互联网的通话。测试显示，通话质量相当不错。据Google的合作伙伴YATE(Yet Another Telephony Engine)称，该功能是在1月31日外界没注意的情况下加入的，Android 2.3已经支持直接从联系人列表拨打SIP电话。
To make SIP calls to Google Voice, just dial +1XXXYYYZZZZ@sip.voice.google.com, where XXXYYYZZZZ is the Google Voice number that you need to dial. Just dial the SIP URI and you will be connected with the Google Voice number that you dialed.
